Who we are

Movemie is a Social Media website for film remakes.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We collect information from you, when you register on Movemie, fill out a form, submit your post, cast your vote, and contact Movemie.
When registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your: Name, E-mail Address and User Name.
When you submit your post on Movemie, we collect user data such as IP Address, User Agent, Referrer, and Request URI. We also use cookies to remember the user submission settings which expires after twenty four hours.
Whenever you cast a vote for a post we collect and store the user name, email and vote count by that user.
We also collect user data when you contact Movemie via our contact page. This data includes your Name, Email, Phone, Website Url, Subject and Reasons for contact.
Only registered members are allowed to submit a comment and the information collected when a comment is left on a post is limited to the User Name and User Email.
Movemie uses Google Analytics to collect data for both registered members and site visitors. All data within our Analytics account is set for deletion after a two year period.

Profile Data

When you register with Movemie, you are asked to provide certain personal data for display on your profile. The “Name” field is required as well as a user name. User profiles are only visible to site visitors who are friends. Other profile information may be required or optional, as configured by Movemie administrators.

The user information provided during account registration can be modified or removed on your Profile > Edit panel. In most cases, users also have control over who is able to view a particular piece of their profile content, limiting visibility on a field-by-field basis to friends, logged-in users, or administrators only. Movemie administrators can read and edit all profile data for all users.

Activity

Movemie records certain user actions, in the form of “activity” data. Activity includes updates and comments posted directly to activity streams, as well as descriptions of other actions performed while using Movemie, such as new friendships and profile updates.

The content of activity items obey the same privacy rules as the contexts in which the activity items are created. For example, activity updates created in a user’s profile is only partially and publicly visible, to logged in users. The activity generated by each user is only visible in its entirety to friends of the particular user. Movemie administrators can view all activity items, regardless of context.

Activity items may be deleted at any time by the registered user who created them. Movemie administrators can edit all activity items.

Messages

The content of private messages is visible only to the sender and the recipients of the message. With the exception of Movemie administrators, who can read all private messages, private message content is never visible to other users or site visitors. Movemie administrators may also delete the content of any message.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to Movemie, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

The data we collect when using our contact form is limited to the user Name, Email, Phone, Website Url, Subject and Reasons for contact.
We only keep contact form submissions for a period of twelve months, after which it is deleted. We also do not use any contact form information for marketing purposes.

Cookies

We use a cookie to show success and failure messages to logged-in users, in response to certain actions, like sending friend requests. These cookies contain no personal data, and are deleted immediately after the next page load.

We also use cookies on member, and activity directories to keep track of a user’s browsing preferences. These preferences include the last-selected values of the sort and filter dropdowns, as well as pagination information. These cookies contain no personal data, and are deleted after 24 hours.

To leave a comment on Movemie you must first be a registered member. If you leave a comment you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you Sign In to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you Sign In, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you Sign Out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish a post, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Additional information

We do not engage in any complex collection or processing of your personal data. We do not use Algorithm or artificial intelligence to assist us with the apprehension or storage of personal information.

How we protect your data

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you enter, submit, or access your own personal information.

We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied data is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Database which can only be accessed by those authorized with special access rights to our systems. These individuals are also required to keep the information confidential. We also periodically run site and database scans to check for vulnerabilities and attempted intrusions. If either is detected we take the necessary steps to rectify them immediately.

What data breach procedures we have in place

We have a system in place where our site is firewall protected. If a breach were to ever take place, our system admin would be notified instantaneously. Our site also has a variety of software installments whose sole purpose is data protection.
If a breach is detected, we will notify all site members within the first twentyfour hours while our team work diligently to isolate the threat.

What third parties we receive data from

We receive data from the video sharing site Youtube. We have the capability to host videos from other video sharing sites, one of which is Vimeo.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data

We do not currently use any form of artificial intelligence for decision making or profiling of our members.

Industry regulatory disclosure requirements

We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Children Online Privacy Protection Act), we do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.
